Feathers and Teeth at the @GoodmanTheatre
There’s a monster living in Chris’ home, but that’s not even her worst nightmare.
What was your greatest fear as a child? Monsters under your bed? Creatures in your closet? What if the scariest thing imaginable wasn’t an evil beast, but a person invading your home? Thirteen-year-old Chris is going to have to face her biggest fears when a mysterious woman moves into her home and hijacks her once-perfect family life. Will she make it out alive? Shrouded in fear of the unknown, Feathers and Teeth is a new horror comedy with plenty of bite.
Home-sweet-home turns into a haunted house for 13-year-old Chris when Carol—her stepmother from hell—moves in. Struggling with the recent death of her mother, Chris is convinced her father’s new live-in fiancé is evil, but she just can’t persuade Dad to her point-of-view. When a mysterious and potentially dangerous creature is found in the family’s backyard, Chris assumes it’s a sign from above to eliminate Carol once and for all. This imaginative world premiere—both bone-chilling and wildly funny—brings the notion of dysfunctional family drama to sensationally scary heights.

Rosehill Cemetery Crypt 5K Run & Walk
Saturday night, October 10 – 7:00 p.m. Start
Rosehill Cemetery
5800 N. Ravenswood Ave. (Just north of Bryn Mawr)
Chicago, IL
Check out fall’s most ‘spirited’ event! It’s the 4th annual 5K on the grounds of the north side’s historic Rosehill Cemetery. Run or walk on the sprawling 350-acre Victorian-era cemetery that opened in 1864. It’s by far the largest cemetery in the City of Chicago (and second largest in Illinois).
Monuments! Mausoleums! Scenic paths! And then there’s the eternal spirits who reside in Rosehill. Among them: more than 10 Chicago mayors, Oscar Mayer, John G. Shedd, Cubs’ announcer Jack Brickhouse, legendary adman Leo Burnett, Sears founder Julius Rosenwald and scores of Civil War vets are just a few of the souls who call Rosehill home.
In addition, there will also be a post run/walk party.

A Celebration of Stephen King at the Music Box Theatre
On Friday, October 16th, Consequence of Sound and The Music Box Theatre cordially invite you to attend “A Celebration of Stephen King”, a twisted, surreal prom night that culminates with a special midnight screening of Brian De Palma’s iconic 1976 classic, Carrie.
Ka is a wheel and that wheel will take us back to Eden High School, May 27th, 1979: The Black Prom.
All prospective students are asked to arrive around 10:30 p.m. at The Music Box Lounge, where themed art work, spinning vinyls, baked goods, photo opportunities, and drink specials will celebrate King’s most iconic works in addition to the 1979 graduating class of Eden High.
Be sure to dress your ’70s best, though. You wouldn’t want to be mistaken for a time traveler. After all, Carrie White isn’t the only King creation you need to worry about bumping into at the punch bowl. Randall Flagg, Jack Torrance, Pennywise … they’ll all be floating around.
