Ghosts of Chicago Walking Tour, Oct. 5-Nov. 1
Join Adam Selzer of Mysterious Chicago and Leyla I. Royale of Dead In Chicago for a one of a kind walking tour of Chicago hauntings and true horror stories!
Tours occur on October 5th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 31st and November 1st at 7 PM.
The tours include murder sites, disaster sites, the site of the city gallows, early burial ground sites, locations to which murderers such as HH Holmes can be traced, and other places that have been said to be haunted over the years. You’ll hear both the traditional ghost story of the location along with the actual horrible history of the spot and why it’s supposedly haunted.
Multiple dates for the tours are available – October 5th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 31st and November 1st at 7 PM.
The October walking tours meet at LaSalle and Wacker, at the Eastland Memorial plaque. The walk is roughly 1.5 miles over the course of 90 minutes or so.
Adam and Leyla will either tag-team the tour or split into two groups, depending on size. For further creepy reading ahead of time, be sure to check out Adam’s site Mysterious Chicago for in depth horror stories and Leyla’s site Dead In Chicago for a daily dose of spoopy.

“Bye Bye Liver” Gets Ready to Drink or Treat This Halloween at The Public House Theatre
Do you love drinking? Do you love dressing up in silly costumes? Do you hate dressing up in silly costumes but like to drink with people who do? “Bye Bye Liver: Drink or Treat” is the Halloween Party for you! For 10 years, “Bye Bye Liver: The Chicago Drinking Play” has been making Chicagoans forget how much fun Halloween was when they were kids, and this year is no exception – on October 29th, we’ll make every princess and superhero wish they were over 21.
Doors open at 8pm, and the bar will be serving up special, Halloween-themed drinks (a shot of Zombie Brains, anyone?), seasonal beers, and candy… because it’s not Halloween without candy. The show starts at 9pm. After the show, stick around and join the actors and your friends for some dancing, h’ors doeuvres, classic party games like Bobbing for Apples (with shots), Pin the Flag on the Presidential Nominee, and prizes for Costumes That Best Represent 2016 (Tip: Sexy Harambe is a real thing). All patrons must be 21+.

ABOUT THE PUBLIC HOUSE THEATRE
The friendliest theatre in Chicago invites you to enjoy a show or two that “puts the efforts of Saturday Night Live to shame (Chicago SunTimes),” where “The modus operandi seems to be coming up with the sort of ideas that seem brilliant when you’re smashed at 2 a.m. and then…actually making them work. (The Examiner)” If you’re thirsty, take advantage of the excellent drink deals at the full bar, especially if you’re a fine whiskey or craft beer lover. With any show on any night of the week, it’s “impossible to not have a good time (TimeOut Chicago).”

Pay 2 Slay at the Public House Theatre
FROM THE PRODUCERS OF “BYE BYE LIVER” COMES A SPOOKY SKETCH SHOW FULL OF HALLOWEEN TREATS
Revel, if you dare, in the frightful delights of alien autopsy, angst-ridden horror icons, pigeonholed literary giants, aged-out trick-or-treaters, and an ill-advised up and comer who may or may not have what it takes to rise to the top.
A little bawdy and a little bloody, “Pay 2 Slay” is a weekly sketch show from the producers of “Bye Bye Liver.” Featuring the collective madness of the eerily gifted Public House Theatre ensemble, “Pay 2 Slay” is an absurd, nostalgic, unnerving celebration of the amusement and terror unique to the Halloween season. And also of candy.
“Pay 2 Slay” was created by Craig Barnes, Patrick Zielinski and The Public House Theatre Ensemble, and directed by Patrick Zielinski. The show opens on Friday, October 7th and runs on Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm until October 29th. Runtime: 50 min. Tickets: $10.
