THEMS
THEMS is a sci-fi thriller set in the year 2156, a volatile time when humans have exhausted many of the Earth’s natural resources. A crew of seven in search of the rare element Carbon9 has just completed a successful mission, filling the ship’s hold with rocks mined from an uncharted asteroid. As they ready for the three-month journey home, it’s clear they are not alone.
The survival horror show is improvised in a cinematic style around a loose story arc, and the characters are played as a study of human nature. The cast has created a fully fleshed-out background for each of their characters, who have secrets, fears, faults and desires that fuel their interactions—in other words, they’re played as real people. And to keep things fresh, THEMS will feature a special guest star each week, a mysterious stowaway found on board.

Women of Horror Film Festival in Chicago
Horror Society Presents… Women of Horror Film Festival
We are thrilled to announce Horror Society’s 4th Film Festival in April at the Portage Theater in Chicago, IL.
With each festival we try to bring a new and different theme into the movie theater, and this time it’s Lady’s Night!
On Saturday, April 25th from 5pm to 12am, Horror Society will feature films directed, produced, written by women and/or have females in the lead role.
Our goal for this festival is to show the female side of the horror genre in a way that most of the horror fans are not familiar with. We want to display females in horror as the lead, dominant role instead of the victim. Many studios and companies tend to stay away from this point of view because it does not attract the audience they are looking for. To us that is a shame. We will also be showcasing and screening many films that have been directed, produced or written by women in the horror industry. There are so many female directors doing Indie Horror now without the recognition they need and deserve.
This is our chance to support these women that are not only directing and producing Independent Horror, but the strong women that are in front of the camera as well.
We will also be holding both a Silent Auction and Horror Raffle with some great items. All proceeds will be donated to the Lynn Sage Foundation to support Breast Cancer Research.
The theater is located on 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave in Portage Park. It’s a beautiful theater located in a great part of the city with state of the art equipment. The festival will run from 5pm to 12am with vendors, giveaways, and more. With each of our festivals we try to put the spotlight on some local talent as well, so we will be having trailers of local Chicago Indie horror films playing throughout the night.
