Robert Englund Joins Cast of Chicago Improvisers in Locally Produced Feature Film
Big Tree Productions, in association with Copper Road LLC and Zombie Army Productions, has begun principal shooting on “The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue,” a comedy/ horror feature shot and produced entirely in the Chicago area.
Big Tree Productions is co-owned by Chicago actors Mike Bradecich and John LaFlamboy, who also wrote and are directing the movie.
The story follows two brothers (Bradecich and LaFlamboy) who have recently inherited a brownstone apartment building from their mother. After two years of running the building into the ground, the brothers must now contend with a monster living in the basement that is threatening the lives of the tenants and their pets.
The ensemble cast is loaded with the icons of the Chicago sketch comedy and improve scene: TJ Jagadowski, David Pasquesi, Susan Messing, and more. In a key role as one of the building’s tenants, the movie also features horror legend Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger from “A Nightmare on Elm Street”) as Hezekiah Confab.
The movie began shooting at The Orphanage Performing Arts Center on 31st Street on the south side on June 29th and continues shooting through July 24th.
