Redmoon presents an amazing take on the 1919 German Expressionist film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, but with impressive puppetry!!!
“Cabinet” creates an abstract cabinet of curiosities with 5 puppeteers manipulating the wonders in the world of Dr. Caligar and Cesare, the somnambulist. See the site for photos that will entice you!
It says this weekend’s it, but it looks like the show has been expanded twice already, due to popular demand and highly praised reviews.
Sat. 6 & 9 p.m. $25 (Box office hours 2-10pm)
Sun. 3 p.m. $20
Runs until April 25th (But keep checking site..might expand again!)

35 Chicagoans have a chance to win a pass (for two) to see an advanced screening of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST. remake next week.

7:00PM
WHERE: Downtown Location is only given to contest winners.
HOW: Send email to caponeaicn@aintitcoolmail.com with subject heading “WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!”
In the body of the email, list your NAME, whether you are bringing a guest and the answer to this question:
“What is your favorite Freddy kill?”
Simply tell Capone your favorite murder Freddy ever committed in movies to date, be BRIEF (75 words or less)and the most creative responses & rationale win.
Please do not mention a guest if they are not 100% confirmed. If
your guest does not come to this screening but you said they would, you do not get in either.
“Please keep in mind that this is NOT an exclusive AICN event, and it is slightly overbooked to make sure there is a full house. If you cannot arrive at this screening early, please do not enter. If there’s even the slightest chance you’ll have to back out of attending if you do win, don’t enter. If you have a job that might make you late or unable to attend, or an ill/pregnant relative, or a temperamental significant other, or a scratchy throat, do not enter. Anyone not showing up without informing me ahead of time so I can fill their seats is no longer eligible for future screening contests.

Sounds strict but seats are really limited, so you can imagine the frustration when someone doesn’t show.

We bring to you George Romeros’s Night of the Living Dead, Midwest Premiere of Rec 2, and Lucio Fulci Zombie. This films are sure to thrill you chill you and give you memories to last.

On Sunday, May 30th, get ready to party like it’s 1959 at RETRO ZOMBIE TIKI TERROR 2, a night of zombie fun set in the tiki wonderland that is The Tiki Terrace in Des Plaines, IL. RETRO ZOMBIE TIKI TERROR 2 will feature a Polynesian floor show, Zombie Pinups Beauty Pageant, Zombie Costume Contest, raffles, prizes, zombie movies, tiki tunes and, of course, delicious tiki drinks!
Tentative itinerary (subject to change):
- 3:00 – 10:00 : All ages welcome!
- 6:00 – 8:00 : Socialize, eat, drink and be scary!
- 8:00 – 9:00 : Live Polynesian Floor Show
- 9:00 – 10:00 : Booze & Shmooze
- 10:00 : Kids, go home – 18+ after 10:00
- 10:00 : Zombie Costume Contest

Ladies, put on your sexiest classic pinup outfit and your most gruesome zombie make up, and compete to win awesome prizes! Judging will be based on quality of make up / effects and costume. All contestants will be photographed for a special gallery at ZombiePinups.com; to get an idea of what we’re looking for, visit the gallery at ZombiePinups.com, and start planning your character NOW!
Enjoy fine food, tiki drinks, classic music, zombie movies and other Chicago zombie dudes & dames in between events! Every ticketholder gets a raffle ticket, so you never know when you’ll win something spectacular.
Tickets are $15.00 in advance, $20.00 at the door – purchase advance tickets HERE. Ticket does NOT include food or drinks. The Tiki Terrace has a full menu of Polynesian-themed food. Pre-sale tickets are only available until Midnight of May 16th. After that, the full price of 20.00 will be charged for tickets.
RETRO ZOMBIE TIKI TERROR 2 will take place from 3:00 pm to 2:00 am on Sunday, May 30th, at the Tiki Terrace, 1591 Lee St., Des Plaines, IL 60018, approximately 4 minutes north of O’Hare International Airport. Tiki Terrace is located at the NE Corner of Lee/Manheim and Oakton. It’s in a shopping center – keep a sharp eye out or you’ll drive right by it.
