Chicago, IL – WildClaw Theatre Company proudly presents DEATHSCRIBE 2012, the Fifth Annual International Festival of Radio Horror Plays, on Monday December 3rd, at 8:00pm.  This collection of spine-tingling audio nightmares will be presented at the historic Mayne Stage Theatre, 1328 W. Continuing our pursuit of intelligent, imaginative horror storytelling, we solicited and received nearly 100 original works from both theatre and horror aficionados around the world. They will be performed by some of Chicago’s finest actors, accompanied by Seeking Wonderland and a team of sound effects artists. The winner of the “Bloody Axe” will be chosen by a panel of horror and theatre experts.  DEATHSCRIBE 2012 will present the following five original horror radio plays:

Comparing Notes at the End of the World”, written by Christopher M. Walsh, directed by Rob Kauzlaric (Lifeline Theatre).

An Abstract Thought With Sinister Intentions”, written by Brandon Zachary, directed by Damon Kiely (DePaul Univeristy, ATC)

“Fish Story”, written by Joseph Zettelmaier, directed by Kevin Theis (Seanachai Theatre).

“El Grito de Rose”, written by Jessica Wright Buha, directed by Carolyn Hoerdemann (Deathscribe 2011, DePaul University, Collaboraction)

The Wall”, written by Travis Williams, directed by Brandon Bruce (Strawdog Theatre)

A Bob Clark Christmas at the Music Box Theatre

From KreeypyLady Kristin:

Happy days are ahead! The Music Box Theatre has programmed a Christmas double feature dedicated to the late, great director Bob Clark!

December 18th in 35mm!!

A CHRISTMAS STORY (1983)

BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974)

"Try not to shoot your eye out when we tell you this news, but we’re doing the best damned Christmas double-feature in town today! If you’re unfamiliar with the genius that is Bob Clark (and you should be – try to track down a copy of Turk 182 if you can!), he directed two of the most perfect Christmas movies ever: 1974’s proto-slasher film Black Christmas (starring Keir Dullea and Margot Kidder) and the mother of them all, 1983’s A Christmas Story. See them together on this one night only! Both in glorious 35mm!"

Times are TBA. Mark your calendars!
