WildClaw Theatre Presents THE REVENANTS
Chicago – March 4, 2009 – WildClaw Theatre presents the Midwest premiere of Scott T. Barsotti’s “The Revenants.” The production opens Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7:30pm (previews April 18 and 19) and runs through May 24, 2009 at Chicago’s Angel Island Theatre, 731 W. Sheridan.
Directed by WildClaw company member Anne Adams, this “relationship drama – with zombies” features Brian Amidei, Ryan Patrick Dolan, Laura Hooper and Jenny Strubin.
“The Revenants” focuses on two married couples barricaded in a basement during a violent uprising of the undead. As supplies run low and hopes dwindle, it is revealed that two of the spouses are infected and getting…hungry. Faced with the true meaning of commitment, husbands and wives must ask of each other: When does love die?
Following its critically acclaimed adaptations of horror lit classics (Arthur Machen’s “The Great God Pan” and H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Dreams in the Witch House”), WildClaw now sets its sights on the dystopian future with “The Revenants.” This gut-wrenching tale of love, regret and zombies continues WildClaw Theatre’s mission of bringing intelligent and imaginative horror to the Chicago stage.
Director Anne Adams assembles another extraordinary WildClaw production team, with set design by Charlie Athanas, costume design by Allison Greaves, lighting design by Paul Foster, sound design by Mikhail Fiksel, make-up design by Sania Panayotova, blood effects by Ryan Oliver, and stage violence by Aaron Christensen.
Performances at 7:30pm Thurs – Sat, Sundays at 3pm (except the April 19th preview, at 7:30pm). Tickets $10 – $20, with student discounts available. For more information, please visit www.wildclawtheatre.com
